Sketches and Origins
Every object begins as a trace.
In these first drawings, the Scutella beetle's anatomy became abstract:
a dome for the shell, two lines for its stance, the gesture of a leg crossing an antenna.
Through sketch after sketch, the posture took form until a lamp emerged part nature, part imagination.
Technical
Structure and Proportions
With every curve defined and every intersection resolved, the freehand lines found their precision.
Technical drawings refined the lamp's balance: one arm straight, the other curved, both leaning into each other to hold the woven dome in place.
A study in proportions that keeps the object light yet grounded.
